The location has been identified by sketches and annotated notes dated "Sept 11, 1956 with John Moore RN RI". Hunt painted at Lee Moor throughout his life, exploring the shapes and colours against the natural backdrop of the Dartmoor Hills. (sb16,sb22, 1928; sb27, 1934; sb28, 1929).
