Sir Edward George Clarke, KC (1841-1931) was a leading British barrister and politician and Solicitor-General in the Conservative government of 1886–1892. In 1895 he represented Oscar Wilde in his unsuccessful prosecution of the Marquess of Queensberry for criminal libel. He was also against women's suffrage.
