Frank Lockwood (1846-1897) was a famous lawyer and Liberal MP for York in the period 1885-97. having been called to the bar in 1872, he went on to become Solicitor-General in Lord Rosebery’s ministry for the year 1894-95, and was knighted at the same time. A talented amateur artist, he published the Frank Lockwood Sketch-book in 1898.
