We are sad to report the death of Roy Hammond on this day, 16th September 2026, at the age of 92.
During a period of over 40 years he was one of the most popular of the Gallery artists, a topographical watercolourist of London and urban delights from around the world.
Roy was a travelling man taking many trips to the Middle East, Europe, India and Australia. As an active member of The Wapping Group of artists, he was drawn to the Goodwin-esque atmospheres of the Thames in misty weather and spectacular sunsets.
Roy has been so much of the virtual fabric of the Gallery for so long he will be intensely missed.
