Distinguished Amateurs - the Musical Duchess
Behold Her Grace rehearsing for an afternoon concert at Mrs Ponsonby De Tomkyns's, before an appreciative audience, which consists of the Host and Hostess, and a few professionals who have been retained to play Her Grace's Obligato Accompaniments. Her Grace always sings her own words, set to her own music. Her compositions are endless; and when once she begins, she doesn't like to leave off in a hurry. The worst of it is, Her Grace's music invariably driven all the other duchesses away – only Mrs P De T Is not yet aware of this.
