"Michelle O'Neill of Sinn Fein becoming first minister of Northern Ireland was quite a moment. With time passing, Sin Fein is less linked to the IRA than it was in my earlier cartooning days, when there was some awful stuff going on. It is pursuing peaceful means of governing, and you can't argue with that. This cartoon was a play on photographs of the Vietnam protests in America, when students started popping flowers down the gun barrels of the troops who were protecting the Pentagon." - Peter Brookes
