"When I was drawing this, it wasn't at all clear what had happened to Bashar al-Assad, Syria's president for 24 years, who had been toppled by rebels. There was a lot of confusion through the day, so it was very difficult to do a direct cartoon about Syria. I liked making this link between that story and Reform UK, which that week had overtaken Labour in the polls for the first time. People are saying, 'Farage is a friend of Trump's. It will be great when the two of them can be in harness together.' Well, of course they won't. Because Trump will be gone in four years - he can't be president again - and it will take Farage a lot longer than four years to get to No 10 if, God forbid, he ever does." - Peter Brookes
