Ponting named this ice formation ‘Castle Berg’. He persuaded Thomas Clissold to pose for him, but at one point, the cook fell and suffered a concussion, giving Ponting a considerable fright. The injury sustained was serious enough to prevent Clissold from accompanying the motor party on the early stage of the Southern Journey.
