'Some lovely people who lived in Hampstead commissioned me to do the view from their house, and it looked right over the back of Flask Walk. But then on the balcony I looked to the left and saw this view, which I really loved. They were going away and said I could stay there for a month or so to do another painting. Later on, I decided to put [my daughter] Cordi holding baby Avery, because it was around that time. And [my dog] Joey and the little cat. It was really, really bright sunshine. And it looked fantastic.'
