This week in London we have truly felt the arrival of Spring, with blossoms opening across the capital and even occasional sunshine.
This painting by Lesley Fotherby shows the Magnolia flowers at their fullest, captured quickly in watercolour before their inevitable fall.
This work is currently on display at Mottisfont, Hampshire, in their exhibition 'Town & Country: A Journey Through the Seasons'. On Wednesday 11th March Lesley Fotherby and Melissa Scott-Miller will be painting en plein air at the property, with the aim of capturing the beginning of Spring together.
Open until 12 April, the exhibition is the perfect chance to visit one of the National Trust's most admired gardens as it begins to bloom.
