You Only Live Twice was the fifth film in the James Bond series. The present image reflects the largely Japanese setting of the movie. During filming, it was announced that You Only Live Twice would be Sean Connery’s final appearance as James Bond, though he returned for the 1971 Diamonds are Forever, after George Lazenby had taken the role for a single film, 1969’s On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. The film was loosely based on Ian Fleming’s novel, with the screenplay written by Roald Dahl.
