This is probably a portrait of Charles Urban Sartoris (1825-1884), the brother of Frederick Urban Sartoris (1819-1887), who had been a contemporary of Hercules Brabazon Brabazon at Trinity College, Cambridge. It is likely to have been drawn in June 1848, during the artist's first visit to spain.
