The mill at Mapledurham, Oxfordshire, is the only mill on the River Thames that is still working and producing stone-ground flour. A mill on the same site was recorded in the Domesday Book, in 1086, though the present building was constructed in the fifteenth century, and enlarged in the late seventeenth century.
