The Chris Beetles Summer Show is an annual exhibition comprising a superlative range of British oils and watercolours. Among the 39 artists featured in this year’s exhibition are gallery favourites: Thomas Rowlandson, Rose Barton, Edward Lear, Albert Goodwin, Hercules Brabazon Brabazon and William Walcot. A particular highlight is a feature on Edward Lear and Franklin Lushington's travels in Greece. An impressive number of new and updated biographies have been written, including those on John Downman, William Alexander, Edward Dayes, Copley Fielding, Joseph Noel Paton and Beatrice Hewitt.
