The Chris Beetles Summer Show is an annual exhibition comprising a superlative range of British oils and watercolours. This catalogue includes features on Jessie Dunlop and Keith Grant as well as one about the Recording Britain scheme which was proposed in 1939 to employ artists to depict and celebrate Britain, under the threat of war, including Charles Knight and S R Badmin. This catalogue also includes new biographies for Edward Steel Harper, Charles Wheeler, Rose Barton and Eric Gill.
