Number four from an edition of nine
On a travertine base measuring 3 x 27 x 18 inches
Basia was the lover model and continued inspiration for the Harpley girl. She lived with him during his most 'Bohemian' times, after the departure of his first wife and the determined arrival of his second Josephine, now his widow.
The idea for this size of bronze, the only one he did, was during the late 1980's in response to requests from the gallery. The edition has been sold entirely through Chris Beetles gallery.
