St-Victor-des-Oules is a village in Provence, near the medieval village of Uzès. During the 1960’s-1970’s Sydney Harpley owned a holiday home there and was inspired, over several years, to produce a series of bronzes and watercolours of sunbathers, often nude and slumbering under large sun hats.
