The church of San Giacomo di Rilto is considered the oldest church in Rialto, believed to be founded on the same day as Venice in 421 AD. The area around San Giacomo features on a number of Tyndale's works originating from the times of his travels around Italy. The distinctive Gothic porticoes which is the part of the architecture is one or the last remaining of it's kind. The church also features a now much larger clock which was added to the building in 1410. The market place was believed to be particularly significant for the business traders of Venice.
