Happy International Cat Day!

From their worship in Ancient Egypt to the domesticated bliss of the present day, the cat is perhaps one of the most widely depicted animals in art. Amongst the great cat artists is Lesley Anne Ivory, whose career has been dedicated to illustrating the feline form. At 90 years old she continues to capture their individuality with constant and precise attention, without ever failing to provide a richly decorated backdrop to their antics.

This piece as well as more works by Lesley Ann Ivory are part of this years 'Louis Wain & the Summer Cat Show', opening 17th August.
