Artist's Proof from an edition of eight.

Sydney Harpley used a local girl, dressed in a traditional sarong kebaya, as a model for this sculpture. The life size version of this was commissioned by David Marshall, renowned Singaporean politician and diplomat, in 1984 for the Singapore Botanical Gardens, where it still on display.
