It was gratifying to see that the Free Church Council has recommended that divorces should be granted on grounds of adultery; desertion, cruelty, bestiality and incurable insanity. But surely there are one or two other provisions which make a marriage intolerable for a sensitive person.
Things like cigarette ends in saucers, burnt-out matchsticks in the bathroom, tea leaves in the sink, cooking fat in the hair, and lidless jam jars in the pantry?
