The Willis Assembly Rooms were built on the south side of King Street, St James's in 1765 to designs by Robert Mylne. Also known at Almack's after the original owner, a Scotsman. The great ballroom was 100 feet long and many exclusive balls and concerts were held
here. The site was at the junction of King Street and St James's Square.
