'Finished this painting of a lovely house near where I live in Islington. This street Freegrove Road has lovely front gardens like the one I was painting outside, with this beautiful freshly flowered lilac bush. The trees in the road have been cultivated with plants around the pavement, I enjoyed the hours I spent there over the last few sunny mornings, listening to sounds of Islington life.'
