A painting of the same title was exhibited at the Royal Society of Painters in Water-Colours, Summer 1928, no 131.
Hunt visited the Valley of the Severn several times, in 1921, 1922 and 1927 but for a longer period in August 1935 when he stayed at the Royal Victoria Hotel in Newnham, (sb3, sb7, sb16, sb39).
