Two paintings of this title were exhibited at Peter Coker's 1980 solo exhibition at Gallery 10, but this painting, the larger of the two, was no 16.

Painted after one of two trips he made in 1979 to Bargemon, in south eastern France. Le Muy is half a hour south of Bargemon and the painting depicts the view south from Le Muy of the river Argens.
